150 Army Doctors to Serve in Punjab Hospitals

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army has announced to deploy its 150 doctors in the Punjab hospitals.

According to ISPR, the doctors are being deployed on the request of Punjab government due to young doctors strike.

The army doctors will work in the uniform in the provincial hospitals and they will serve just for medical consultation while the civil officials will handle the administrative matters.

It may be noted here that due to strike of young doctors, Punjab government had requested for army doctors’ services in provincial hospitals

Fatima, 23 years old, wanted to be a successful woman entrepreneur after getting some experience in the market. She was doing job as an administrator in an academy to fund her studies and fulfill her living expenses. During her job, she always observed the activities of the head of the institution “how he makes decisions and monitors activities of the staff”. She knew that she would be someday a successful entrepreneur in the field of education.

Several months before her graduation, Fatima’s father and several friends asked her when she would be starting her job hunt. After graduation, Fatima continued to work at the academy as she was doing earlier. One day, she went to meet her mentor, Professor Ahmed Raza, at his office. Professor Ahmed Raza asked Fatima how her job search was going. Fatima Replied, “I will be getting to work on my resume soon. Fatima met with Professor Ahmed Raza a week later. ISLAMABAD: With the appointment of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as deputy prime minister (DPM) of the country, the federal government and particularly the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would have to face new serious controversies as both the ‘Pervaiz’ are from the Punjab, and they belong to adjacent districts. The action could be challenged in the court of law. The aspirants of the top executive office sitting in the federal cabinet after exit of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani were hopeful of some special treatment, but they have to content with their old portfolios and on the other parties based in smaller units were expecting any privileged post if any for their nominee since the concept of the deputy prime minister if has any credence should be used for the appeasement of smaller province. The Muttahida Qaumi Movement that has 25 solid members in the National Assembly besides its strength in the Senate and Awami National Party (ANP) of Asfandyar Wali Khan based in the KP and Balochistan with thirteen members of the National Assembly had genuine urge for having such coveted slot for their nominee.

The ANP stalwart Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, whose clan has been continuously ignored in his province, was a choice for the office on behalf of the KP. The political sources told The News that Chaudhry brothers have used their clout in the best possible manner in the wake of the ouster of Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani. The Chaudhrys were not comfortable with Gilani, but he managed them skilfully. The Chaudhrys first vetoed the initial choices of the bigger partner the PPP when it tried to bring Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar as prime minister. Later, Qamar Zaman Kaira was also knocked down by the same trick. The denial of taking oath by Chaudhry’s Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) on Friday last was also part of the trick, the sources said. The sources pointed out that the 50 words announcement pertaining to the appointment of Ch Pervaiz Ellahi as deputy prime minister announcement has more negative connotation than any positive impression.

It has been stated that the deputy prime minister will have no exclusive authority whatsoever. Instead, the requirement was to explain the domain of the deputy prime minister and his appointment must be welcomed by the ruling party and the Prime Minister but the impression is other-way round. Political observers are of the view that if the prime minister had any authority to designate such an office holder, he would have used it for first bringing a leader from Balochistan where the conciliation is badly needed. CS301 VU Current GDB Spring 2012 Solution

Suppose you are given a task to develop an electronic phone book in which you have to store names and phone numbers of employees of a company. The data structures available to you are linked list and Binary Search Tree (BST) and you have to choose only one data structure. Moreover, while selecting any data structure, you also have to keep in consideration insertion, deletion and search operations, because, the company can hire some new employees, search for an employee’s phone number and some old employees can also leave this company. Discuss which data structure do you think would be more suitable for the above discussed scenario. Also discuss the reason why would you prefer this data structure over the other?

Solution:

A binary search tree will provide logarithmic searching which is pretty good. Insertions or deletions will be more costly because they may require some tree rebalancing.

For your linked list, are you still going to keep the data in order or just stuff the nodes one after another? If you are putting them in no order, retrieval will be slow (linear) and insertions and deletions still won’t be that fast. The problem with a linked list, if I remember correctly, is that you can’t jump in the middle of a linked list. You start at the root and go to the next node then the next, etc. So you really can’t perform a binary search or any kind of hashing on the data.

The most popular variation of the Binary Tree is the Binary Search Tree (BST). BSTs are used to quickly and efficiently search for an item in a collection. Say, for example, that you had a linked list of 1000 items, and you wanted to find if a single item exists within the list. You would be required to linearly look at every node starting from the beginning until you found it. If you’re lucky, you might find it at the beginning of the list. However, it might also be at the end of the list, which means that you must search every item before it. Such searches frequently happen on web servers and huge databases, which makes the need for a much faster searching technique much more apparent. Suppose you have an address book and want to store People objects somehow so that you can retrieve information about the person (name, age, address, etc) Suppose the key is the person’s name. (snowz) Now, as you might imagine, people are going to want to get Sue Johnson, Albert Zudo, Michael Allan, etc. in any order. So, from the perspective of a program, the order you will be retrieving data will be random. IMO, a tree structure would be better here than a linked list. For a linked list to get to Albert Zudo you are going to have to retrieve the data by going through every entry before Albert Zudo (all A’s, B’s, etc) For a tree structure you can use a binary search (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binary_search). A binary search essentially lets you eliminate half of the possible choices on each comparison. A linked list only lets you eliminate one.

Similarly with insertions, to add someone to the address book you can simply do a binary search to find the insertion point for a tree. For a linked list you have to go through each item to find it’s insertion points.
